
The Fifth Edition of TNWISE 2025 (Tamil Nadu Women in Science and Engineering) Hackathon, hosted by Tamil Nadu Centre of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing - TANCAM, took place on April 4, 2025, at Er. Perumal Manimekalai College of Engineering, Hosur. With 360+ teams, 900+ participants, and 360+ projects from 70+ institutions, the event provided an exceptional platform for women in STEM to drive innovation in smart mobility and sustainability under the theme "Innovative Design for Industry 4.0." Designed to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and technical excellence, the hackathon encouraged aspiring women engineers to tackle industry-relevant challenges, guided by leaders and experts in advanced manufacturing and digital engineering.
The inaugural session featured Mrs. V. Komala Devi, HR Leader at Lenovo Systems, as the Chief Guest, alongside esteemed dignitaries from PMC Tech and TANCAM. A special address was delivered by Mr. Vijayadeepan S M, CEO of TANCAM, who emphasized the importance of nurturing women professionals in STEM fields, encouraging young innovators to lead the future of technology and sustainable industry. The event culminated in the valedictory session, presided over by Shri. P. Kumar, Chairman of @PMC Tech Group of Institutions. Distinguished industry leaders, including Mr. S. Moorthy (President, Hostia Industries), Mr. K. Dinesh Tej (Dassault Systèmes), and Mrs. S. A. Ezhil Bharathi S A (Aerospace Engineers Private Limited), graced the occasion to recognize and celebrate outstanding innovations.
The award distribution honored 20 teams for their exceptional contributions, with three top awards shared by two teams each and 14 special prizes presented for promising and innovative ideas. Additionally, 10 internships were offered by Dassault Systèmes & TANCAM, reinforcing the importance of practical industry exposure and career development for young women in STEM.
The TNWISE Hackathon themes align with Dassault Systèmes’ Act for Sustainable Energy, highlighting the hashtag#EnergyExperience initiative and the belief that hashtag#TheOnlyProgressIsHuman. A heartfelt thanks goes to Ms. Victoire de Margerie, VP of Corporate Marketing at Dassault Systèmes, for her inspiring video message, which empowered and encouraged women in STEM to strive for excellence and lead with confidence. With TANCAM’s unwavering commitment to empowering women in STEM, TNWISE 2025 stood out as a launchpad for talent recognition, collaboration, and future opportunities, cultivating the next generation of women leaders in science and engineering.
