
Tamil Nadu Centre of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing - TANCAM’s the Third edition of TNWISE 2025 (Tamil Nadu Women in Science and Engineering) Hackathon, an exclusive event for women in STEM, was held on March 21, 2025, at Thanjavur, Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science & Technology. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 900+ students from 80+ institutions across Tamil Nadu, forming 367 teams and presenting groundbreaking projects. With a venue filled with aspiring women in science and engineering, the hackathon served as a powerful platform to foster innovation, collaboration, and technological excellence. The theme for this edition was Water and Agriculture, focusing on innovative solutions to address challenges in these critical sectors and celebrated the World Water Day 2025.we conducted the hackathon aligned with the World Water Day 2025 theme of Water and Agriculture, emphasizing the urgent need for sustainable water management and agricultural innovation.
The Inauguration featured speakers, including Dr. P. K. @Srividhya, Registrar, PMIST, and Mr. Vijayakumar VELUSAMY, Senior Team Manager – Electronics, Power Train Systems, Valeo. The chief guest address was delivered by Mr. K. SUSIL KUMAR, Consultant, Tiruchirappalli Engineering and Technology Cluster (TREAT), Mr. Kennithraj Anbu, Founder & CEO of Transen Dynamics, Dr. V. Ramachandran, Vice-Chancellor, PMIST, and Mrs. Thendral Rajendran, Vice President-TANCAM.
The Valedictory ceremony included a keynote by Dr. Jayakumar Venkatesan, CEO & Human Spaceflight Researcher, Harpy Aerospace, and a speech by Dr. R. MALLIGA, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr.P.K.@Srividya Registrar, Dr.Aruna AP, Chief Executive Officer, Periyar TBI, followed by an address from Dr. @V. Ramachandran, Vice-Chancellor, PMIST. The chief guest for the valedictory function, Mr. Venkatesh, General Manager, NLC India Ltd., delivered an inspiring speech on industry-academia collaboration and the importance of innovation in STEM. The event concluded with an award distribution ceremony recognizing 20 outstanding teams, with 3 top awards shared by two teams each and 14 special prizes for the most promising innovations. Mr. Vijayadeepan S M, COO-TANCAM, also presented TANCAM initiatives, reinforcing the organization's commitment to fostering women-led innovation in STEM. A key outcome of TNWISE 2025 was the announcement of 15 internships provided to students by Dassault Systèmes & TANCAM, reinforcing industry-academia collaboration and empowering young women engineers with real-world experience.
