Tamil Nadu Skill Development (TNSDC) has initiated a program "NAAN MUDHALVAN," aimed at empowering the youth through training and upskilling. One of the key training partners for this program is the Tamil Nadu Centre of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing (TANCAM). TANCAM's involvement has been instrumental in providing training to both college faculties and students.
TANCAM began its contribution by conducting a Faculty Development Program (FDP) in Chennai and Coimbatore. The FDP targeted 121 college faculties from various institutions in the state. The program spanned over One week and focused on equipping faculties with the latest knowledge and skills in "Product Design and Manufacturing 3D Surface Modelling." Industry experts and TANCAM professionals led workshops, hands-on sessions, and seminars, familiarizing faculties with the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform by Dassault Systèmes. Following the successful FDP, TANCAM's trainers launched an extensive training program for 3742 students from different colleges across Tamil Nadu. This training program was titled "Product Design and Manufacturing 3D Surface Modelling" and lasted three months. The objective was to provide students with practical expertise and a theoretical understanding of product design and manufacturing using 3D surface modelling techniques.
TANCAM's training methodology emphasized interactivity and practical learning. The trainers utilized a combination of classroom lectures, live demonstrations, and hands-on exercises. The students were also granted access to the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform, offering them valuable real-world exposure to industry-relevant projects. The outcomes of the program have been highly impactful. Students and faculties expressed their appreciation for the training, as it has enabled them to upgrade their skills and remain competitive in the job market. Moreover, there has been a noticeable increase in students' interest in product design and manufacturing, showcasing the success of the initiative.
