The Faculty Development Program on "Product Design and Manufacturing- 3D Surface Modelling" was conducted at the Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai. In Coimbatore, The Faculty Development Program was conducted at the PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research, Coimbatore. The program witnessed the participation of 51 members from 121 various Anna University-affiliated colleges in and around Coimbatore from 13th to 17th February 2023. The program aimed to equip the faculty members with the latest technologies and tools in the field of Product Design and Manufacturing, specifically 3D Surface Modelling on the Dassault Systemes- 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

Six domain experts were deployed to conduct the program, and the first session was inaugurated and inducted by Mr. Sunil, a Technical expert from Dassault Systemes. He emphasized the importance of the program and Tamil Nadu Centre of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing collaboration with Dassault Systemes to achieve the Tamil Nadu State Government's Naan Mudhalvan Scheme's vision of reaching out to all students effectively and efficiently. The program consisted of five days, where the participants were trained on the Dassault Systemes- 3DEXPERIENCE platform and made to design industrial use cases. The evaluation process was based on the concept of their design and speed, and participants were given ample opportunities to hone their skills. At the end of the program, a discussion was held with all the participants to explore effective ways to transfer the knowledge of the course to their students. The faculty members were highly satisfied with the program's structure, delivery, and outcomes, and expressed their gratitude towards the organizers for conducting such a beneficial program.
